" Thy Kingdom cotne."                  193
Come, blessed Lord ! let every shore
And answering island sing The praises of Thy royal name,
And own Thee as their King.
Bid the whole earth, responsive now
To the bright world above, Break forth in rapturous strains of joy
In memory of Thy love.
Lord, Lord ! Thy fair creation groans
The air, the earth, the sea, In unison with all our hearts,
And calls aloud for Thee.
Thine was the Cross, with all its fruits
Of grace and peace divine : Be Thine the crown of glory now,
The palm of victory Thine !
Si? Edward Denny* 1848.
CLXXVII.
O Saviour ! is Thy promise fled t Nor longer might Thy grace endure
To heal the sick, and raise the dead, And preach the Gospel to the poor ?
Come, Jesus, come ! return again;
With brighter beam Thy servants bless, Who long to feel Thy perfect reign,
And share Thy kingdom's happiness !
A feeble race, by passion driven, In darkness and in doubt we roam,
And lift our anxious eyes to Heaven, Our hope, our harbour, and our home.
